What to Expect:

Momentum Youth Athletics is a transformative youth athletic program dedicated to inspiring youth to develop healthy habits through sports and physical activity. Our program aims to create an inclusive environment where all children, regardless of their background, can engage in athletic training, learn valuable life skills, and foster a sense of community.
We are committed to breaking down barriers and providing access to resources and opportunities that may not be readily available in underserved communities. Our goal is to inspire confidence, resilience, and a passion for active living, helping each participant discover their potential both on and off the field. Through sports, we aim to build a brighter, healthier future for our youth while fostering a deep sense of belonging and community.
Throughout my years as a coach, I have noticed a trend of children leaving organized sports. While various factors contribute to this phenomenon, understanding the reasons behind it can help parents, coaches, and sports organizations create a more welcoming environment for young athletes. Here are ten key reasons why kids are stepping away from sports.

Through structured training sessions and wellness workshops, we focus on the fundamentals of various sports while emphasizing the importance of physical fitness, nutrition, and mental well-being. Our experienced coaches serve as mentors, guiding participants in skill development, teamwork, and leadership, ensuring that each child feels empowered and supported.
In addition to athletic training, our program incorporates educational components that promote understanding of healthy lifestyle choices, including nutritional education, fitness routines, and goal-setting workshops. We believe that by equipping youth with the knowledge and skills to make informed health decisions, we can set them on a path to lifelong wellness.
One of the things I struggled with as a young athlete was what to eat before a game. More often than not, I went without eating. This obviously hindered my peak performance. So whether you’re hitting the field for a soccer match, gearing up for a marathon, or getting ready for a big basketball game, fueling your body with the right pre-game foods is crucial for optimal performance.

“My son has been attending Coach Malik’s basketball program for over a year, and his transformation has been incredible. Not only has he improved his skills and confidence on the court, but he has also developed a love for the game. Coach Malik’s positive attitude and motivating style are very welcome.”
“I remember Coach Malik training kids in the church parking lot. I love the way he takes the time to understand each player’s strengths and weaknesses, tailoring his coaching to help them improve. Our family loves his dedication and perseverance in helping the kids in our community.”
“Our experience with Momentum Athletics has been outstanding! When Noah first came to the gym, he was very shy. Coach Malik encouraged him to stay and participate. Noah has developed into one of the best players on his travel team. I can truly say Momentum Athletics played a big part in that.”
